External Assistant: Finance Officer

The Herpetofauna Albanian Society (HAS) seeks a Finance Officer with experience to join the LIFE MEDTURTLES project. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the project coordinator and supervisor in the preparation of budget and necessary reports foreseen by the project, managing records and receipts, reconciling the project transactions and preparing balance sheets, processing invoices, resolve financial disputes raised by the project coordinator or lead beneficiary.
A bachelor’s degree from a college or university with major course of study in one of the Finance, Economics, Accounting or a closely related field and with three years of professional experience; or a master’s degree from a college or university with major course of study in one of the Finance, Economics, Accounting or a closely related field and with two years of professional experience; or a doctorate from a college or university with major course of study in one of the Finance, Economics, Accounting or a closely related field.
PREFERRED SELETION CRITERIA
Candidates with a PhD or a Master’s in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a closely related field, with extensive financial experience, and/or with experience on the implementation of the EU funded projects are encouraged to apply and may be given preference.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of: financial programs. Skills: strong quantitative skills. Ability to: collect and organize data; perform quantitative analysis of data; work both independently and on collaborative projects; utilize problem-solving techniques; use computer software for database, statistical, graphical, and word-processing applications; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, colleagues, and volunteers; understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures implemented by the employer.
